Penny Wade of Waco died when her pickup was hit by the cab of an 18-wheeler after she lost control of her vehicle in the southbound lanes between County Road 1596 and the Hot Skillet.

Penny Wade, 52, of Waco, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, November 20, at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 19, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.
Penny was born on November 2, 1963, in Waco, to her loving parents, Jimmy and Hilda (Kornegay) Courtney. After graduating from Connally High School in 1982, she attended Tyler Junior College. On June 30, 2001 she married . Penny spent many years working at Fleetwood Homes until 2010 when she decided to pursue her dream, and opened "Courtney's Too Boutique". Her love and passion for her business shined through effortlessly in the way she served others.
Penny had a heart of gold and was loved by many. "Her boys" were her world and she was the best G. G. (Groovy Granny) to her grandchildren, spending most of her free time with her grandson, adored her family dearly and absolutely loved the holidays. She was known to her family as "the heart and soul of the holiday season." She was beautiful. She was fun. She was loved and she was full of sass. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Hilda Courtney.
Survivors include her husband, Chalk Bluff; sons, of Corpus Christi, of Waco, of Waco, of Waco and of Waco; daughter, of Hewitt; grandchildren, great-grandson,; brother, f and Jennifer McKinney of Waco; mother and father-in-law, of Chalk Bluff; nieces and nephews, ; sister-in-law, of Elm Mott; and five aunts,
