Beryl Reed Cundick
Beryl Reed "Jack" Cundick, 89, passed away December 15, 2008 in American Fork, Utah. He was born to Francis J. and Sophie Schneiter Cundick on May 13, 1919 in West Jordan, Utah. He served in WWII from 1941 to 1945 in England and Africa, was shot down 3 times and received 3 purple hearts. He worked at Geneva Steel in Orem for 32 years.
In 1954, in Ely, NV, Jack married Helen Southworth Truex and became an instant father of six children, Kathy, Charles, Kent, Dick, Mike Truex and Elaine Southworth. Helen died in 1989.
Jack loved to hunt deer and went with his friends to the same spot for nearly 40 years. He spent time reading, tinkering with old cars, going fishing in Wyoming, watching a good football game, and enjoying his family.
Survived by a son, Richard B. (Mary Ann) Truex, Denver, and a daughter, Kathleen (Ron) Bush, Arkansas, 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 daughters-in-law. Preceded in death by Charles Ronald Truex, Michael Gary Truex, Harry Kent Truex and Elaine Southworth Gibbons.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 2 pm in the American Fork Cemetery, 600 N Center. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork, from 12:45 to 1:45 prior to the services. Military Rites by VFW Dist IV.
