Robert Wayne Kitts, age 68 of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday November 11, 2015. Wayne was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. After retiring from International Union of Operating Engineers Local #719, he served as superintendent of major pipeline and civil projects. He took great pride in working and loved nothing more than his family and in particular his grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by father, Robert Eugene Kitts; his mother Evelyn Gray; and his brother Gary Kitts. He is survived by his wife of 47 year, Linda Kitts; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Scott Kirby (Baton Rouge); son, Chris Kitts, and special friend Shelly Hensley; daughter and son-in-law Kristi and Tim Cox; grandchildren Denton and Parker Kirby (Baton Rouge); Dustin (Camp Lejeune, NC) and Meghann Kitts; and Bailey and Brook Cox; mother-in-law Alma Llewellyn; sister-in-law Brenda Edwards; and special nephew Mickey Edwards. The family would like to extend their love and sincere thanks to Casey Daigle and his family in Sulphur, LA.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, with funeral services to follow at 7:00 pm with Reverend Gary Watts officiating. Family and friends will meet at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier Highway) at 11:15 am Tuesday November 17, 2015 for graveside services at 11:30 am, with full military honors conducted by the East Tennessee State Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Denton Kirby, Dustin Kitts, Parker Kirby, Tim Cox, Scott Kirby, and Chris Watts.
