Son of John and Isabella (Atkins) King. Formerly lived in Guernsey County, Ohio. Year of birth taken from 1850 US Census, and may be inaccurate. According to his sister, interviewed in 1881, he died of typhoid fever.

Andrew King was originally interred in the old Columbus North Graveyard, established by city council ordinance on July 8, 1834, and later condemned by the city to accommodate railroad easements, commercial and residential construction.

The burials at the North Graveyard were removed to Green Lawn Cemetery, although Green Lawn did not keep a record of specific re-interments, in part because most of the deceased were unable to be identified unless they were in marked graves. Andrew King was an exception. Mr. King had been buried wearing a belt with his employer's name on it: Fame Fire Company. The remains were positivly identified by Mrs. C. H. Shumlefel [Isabel (King) Shumlefel, wife of Conrad H. Shumlefel*, both also interred at Greenlawn cemetery.] as her brother Andrew J. King. [Source: Schlegel, Donald M., _The Columbus City Graveyards_] According to this source, Section 28, Lot 52 is one of the areas Green Lawn designated for relocation of remains from the Old North Graveyard.
