SANDY RIDGE—Funeral Services will be held from the Hawk Run Catholic Church at 10 a. m. Thursday for Carl Kardohely, 39-year-old Sandy Ridge coal miner killed in a rock fall at the Bilelow Run Coal Co. mine yesterday.
Rev. W. T. Harking of Philipsburg will officiate and interment will be held in the Hawk Run Catholic Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted.
Mr. Kardohely was born in Hawk Run Sept. 2, 1919, a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Kardohely who survive him.
He is also survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Collins; a son, John, 7; a daughter, Sandra, 5, and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Mary Kitcho of Troy, John of Philipsburg, Mrs. Ann Reitz of Winburne, Joseph, Helen, Rudolph, and a twin brother, Steven, all at home; Mrs. Elizabeth Ianaro of Clearfleld, Mrs. Agnes Pigeon of Niagara Falls, N. Y., and George of Cumberland, Mr. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Mr. Kardohely, a World War II veteran, was a member of the Philipsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the Mt. Top Fire Co. of Sandy Ridge.
Friends may call at the Kardohely home in Hawk Run until time of services.
