Dan Thompson, 61, Hartford City, died at 2:52 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2015. He was born in Doniphan, MO, to the late James and Etta (Shields) Thompson.
Dan was a graduate of Marion High School and went on to earn a 4-year ASE Master Certification. He was a truck driver for Strange Trucking, and had previously worked for Brinks, Auto Network, and Marion Community Schools.
Working on cars and trucks was a real love that Dan had. He also loved his semi-trucks and cats.
Those surviving Dan include his children, Stacy (Antonio Mendez) West, Marion, Jennifer (Joseph) Shephard, FL, Ryan (Courtney) Kemp, NV, Ashley (Levi Jones) Kemp, Hartford City; grandchildren, Danielle DeBoard, Tyler Thompson, Kayla Shephard, Haley Shephard, Joseph Shephard, Jr., Nathaniel Shephard; great-grandchildren, David Wise, Jr., Bra'Lynn Wise; extended family, Andy (Kim) Swygart and family, Chris, Joe, and Jeremy Swygart, Miller family, DeBoard family; brother, James (Mae) Thompson, Jr.; and his companion, Karen Kemp.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 pm. on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Services for Dan will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.
