Larry Edward "Big Larry" Dickerson of Thackerville, OK was born November 30, 1943 in Monahans, TX, the son of Roger Melton and Ruth Clark Dickerson. He passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 in Mercy Hospital Ardmore at the age of 71.

Larry was a lifelong resident of the Love County/Cooke County area. He left school early to serve in the U.S Army and then worked as a residential contractor.

Larry loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Although some may have considered him a very stubborn individual, everyone knew him as being a very avid fan of the Texas Longhorns and NASCAR.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Jerry Dickerson; sister, Betty Parker; and great-granddaughter, Gracelyn Clowers.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Shelby Dickerson of Gainesville, TX and Eddie and Jennifer Dickerson of Lake Kiowa, TX; two brothers and sister-in-law, Harry Dickerson of Thackerville and Lanny and Linda Dickerson of Gainesville; sister, Lanna Terrell, also of Thackerville; five grandchildren, Andrew Dickerson, Ryan Dickerson, Crystal Clowers, Carol Dickerson, and Haleigh Gentry; and several great-grandchildren.

Serving as casket bearers will be Larry Dickerson, Jimmy Dickerson, Roger Dickerson, Kenneth Ing, Jamey Bryant, Doyle Scruggs, Andrew Dickerson, Ryan Dickerson, and Lonnie Ing. Honorary bearers are Sonny Cornett and Charles Camp.
