Victor C. "Vic" Howell

FRIENDSHIP - Victor C. "Vic" Howell, 86, of 41 Pennsylvania Ave., passed away Monday (Nov. 9, 2015) at Cuba Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born March 6, 1929, in Belfast, he was a son of Charles and Cloe Campbell Howell. On Oct. 8, 1966, in Genesee, Pa., he married the former Vivian E. Cummins Baxter.

Vic grew up in Belfast and attended Belfast Central School. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany, and upon his return home he moved to Rochester, where he was a machinist at the General Motors Plant. Retiring in 1987, he and his wife made their home in Friendship.

Vic enjoyed fishing and hunting. His true love was his family and spending time with them, especially with his two special great-grandchildren.

He was a 34 member of Friendship American Legion Post No. 1168.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Vivian, are a son, Todd (Mary) Baxter of Spencerport; two daughters, Amy J. Bennett of Friendship and Cheri R. Wagner of Friendship; six grandchildren, Justin Baxter, Brittney Blondale, Jonathan Pasquale, Summer Bennett, Kevin Baxter and Zachary Baxter; great-grandchildren, including special great-grandchildren Noah Patton and Victor Baxter; a sister, Mildred Granger of Saluda, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his stepfather, Carl Raymond; a son, Charles V. Howell; four brothers, Dick Howell, Hubert Howell, Gordon Howell and Burton Howell; and a sister, Wilma Hopkins.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship.
