RITES HELD FOR RETIRED FARMER J. W. BURNS
Funeral serves for James Wesley Burns, 68, were conducted this afternoon in the Wilson funeral home with Rev. J. W. Hodges, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating.
After the El Reno services, the body was taken to Blanchard for interment.
Mr. Burns, a retired farmer, died Saturday night at his home, 609 South Rock Island avenue, after an extended illness. He had lived in El Reno about three years and before moving here had farmed for 30 years in Grady county.
He is survived by his wife of the home and by the following son and daughters; Walter Burns, Chickasha; Mrs. Tobitha Carpenter, Glenwood, Calif.; Mrs. Laura Smith, Portales, N.M.; Mrs. Ellie Gore, Comanche; Mrs. Ione Rowe, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Edna Eighmy, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Lottie Harrison, Norge.
He also is survived by 23 grandchildren and four brothers and sisters, Webb Burns, Boswell; Willie Burns, Troy; Miss Cora Burns, Troy, and Mrs. Bonnie Brown, Mexia, Tex.
