Mr. Freddie Stewart was born June 13, 1930 to the union of Toney and Lucy Stewart in Zachary, LA. He accepted Christ at an early age. Freddie served in the Korean War and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He later moved to Michigan in 1949 where he was employed at Pontiac General Motors. He retired from General Motors after thirty years of service. He was also a Yellow Cab Driver for approximately ten years. In May 1953, he married Ann Walker and to that union six children were born. In October 1970, he married Floretta Stringfield and to that union two children were born and one step-son. Freddie was an easy going, kind hearted family man. Everyone loved him and he never had a harsh word to say about anyone. He loved being with family and friends. He loved fishing and watching western movies.
Mr. Freddie Stewart leaves to cherish his memory: children, Freddie Stewart, Jr., Belinda (Lee Frank) Grayer Sr., Janice Stewart, Connie Stewart-Stovall, James (Terry) Stringfield, Kevin Stewart, Janeen Stewart; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Charles (Delina) Stewart; one sister, Barbara Jean Lamon; and a host of relatives, nieces and nephews.
