Eleanor was the fifth of seven children of James Barber and Elizabeth Wright. She was raised in Columbia in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She married Elisha Moore of Sadsbury Twp. By 1810 they were living in Bellefonte in Centre County, where she died at age 50.
