The world lost a wonderful Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, but Heaven's choir gained a beautiful alto voice when Juanita Sims passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014.

Juanita was a breast cancer survivor and fought a long brave battle with Alzheimer's disease and levy body dementia.

She was born on June 25, 1931, in Amite County, Mississippi and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sims; parents, Ruby and Benny Long; sister, Doris Bass; brother, B. F. Long and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Rebecca Walker.

Left to cherish every moment of their time with her are children; Gail Martin and husband Scott, Bobbie Ann Walker and husband Don, Dale Sims and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Chasity Krefft and husband Joey, Brian Hamm and wife LaDonna, Savanna Martin, Rachel Caffrey and husband Pat, Samuel Walker, Savanna Grappe and husband Stephen, and Samantha Burns; great-grandchildren, Emma, Maggie and Drew Krefft, Sydney and Benjamin Hamm, Kaitlyn Grappe, and Ewan Caffrey.

Services will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday, February 12, 2014, 11:00 AM with Rev. Billy Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Brian Hamm, Joey Krefft, Sam Walker, Stephen Grappe, Pat Caffrey, and Paul Young.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Agency of Shreveport Bossier or the charity of donor's choice. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Nursecare's Third Floor Staff and Amedisys Hospice for taking such good care of our precious mother.
