Ellen L. Richardson, 83, of Bassett, died on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Lewis Gale Hospital. She was born in Henry County on May 4, 1932 to the late Robert F. and Edna E. Lavinder. Ellen was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Richardson, Sr.; a son, John Richardson; daughter-in-law, Sharon Richardson and a brother, Homer Lavinder.
Ellen is a member of the Peoples Church of the Living God and was a long time employee of Bassett Walker Furniture.
Ellen is survived by two daughters, Janice Scott and husband, Russell and Virginia Bussey and husband, Dale; two sons, Harold Richardson and Jerry Richardson; eighteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2 pm to 3 pm in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 3 pm with Bishop Dwayne Pruitt and Russell Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery.
