MARTINSVILLE BULLETIN, Martinsville, VA., Thur., Sept. 18, 1997 [edited]. The funeral for Jack Harold Richardson, Sr., 70, of Bassett, who died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1997, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, will be held Friday at the Peoples Church of the Living God, west of Bassett. Burial will be in Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Church cemetery. Richardson was born April 18, 1927, a son of the late John Rufus Richardson and the late Hannie Sue Bryant Richardson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donella Arnold. He was a retired assistant foreman at the Bassett Chair Plant of Bassett Furniture Industries. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Lavinder Richardson, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Janice) Scott of Trinity, N.C., and Mrs. Dale (Virginia Dare) Bussey of Rocky Mount; three sons, John of Bassett, Harold Jr. of Stuart and Jerry Richardson of Reidsville, N.C.; three sisters, Juanita Robertson of Venice, Fla., Cleo Bocock of Patrick Springs and Rachel Jamison of Martinsville, and one brother, David Richardson of Ringgold.
