Mrs. Edith Black, 82, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 15, 2012 in the Calhoun Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Ga. Her remains have been cremated, but there will be a Memorial Service held Tuesday morning, Dec. 18, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Leary Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Layton officiating. Burial of her ashes will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Black was born August 13, 1920 in Pahokee, Fl. to the late Lee Bryan Bailey, Sr. and Bessie Lenore Davis Bailey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Leary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Black's survivors include her husband James Emory Black who just in the last few days has been admitted to the Calhoun Nursing Home in Edison, Ga. She has one son: Tony Long of Leesburg, Ga., 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She also has 2 sisters: Shirley Pope and Sheila Weldon, both of Okeechobee, Fl., and 3 brothers: Lee Bailey, Jr., somewhere in Florida, Lloyd Bailey of Thomasville, Ga. and George Bailey of Cooksville, Tn.
