Jack Edward KIPFER

KIPFER, Jack Edward Jack passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the age of 73. Jack is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years Gloria (Lipskie), sons Jeffrey (Gail) of Waterloo and David of Ottawa. Jack was the proud Papa/Grandpa of Josh, Alex, Dahlia and Darius. Jack is also survived by his sister, Sharon Stephen and her husband Jim of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Janet Kipfer of Gowanstown; and sister-in-law, Dianne Labarge and husband Ray of Kitchener. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Helen (MacIntosh) Kipfer and his brother, Allan Kipfer. Jack had a long and successful career at Carelift Equipment in Breslau, although he was still involved with the company for several years after he retired. However, his true passion in life was building models of classic wooden boats. His hobby earned him many awards and accolades over the years, and he was a proud, long-serving member of the Golden Triangle Marine Modellers and the Great Lakes Model Boat Association. When his boys were young, Jack was also involved in Scouts Canada. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Jack during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, November 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 4th at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Malina officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home's Fireside Room. Interment will be made at Memory Gardens, Breslau following the reception. Heartfelt thanks go out to the kind and caring staff of Breithaupt House at Columbia Forest Long Term Care who were there for Jack in so many ways, especially during his final hours. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, KidsAbility, or to St. Matthews Lutheran Church and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
