She was born on October 21, 1931, in Vienna, IL, and was the second of seven children. Charlene married Cecil Willis on Dec. 22, 1951, and together they raised six children. Charlene spent her life serving Jesus, her family and those in need. She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Sycamore. Her unselfish kindness, grace and quiet strength touched many lives and she will always be remembered for her servant's heart.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Cecil; her five children, Cathy (John) Hartley of Woodstock, Colleen Willis of Sycamore, Roger (Annette) Willis of Woodstock, Dianna (Gary) Olson of Maple Park and Debbie (Dave) G'Fellers of DeKalb; her dearly loved grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Curet of OH and Linda (Bob) Hartman of Aurora; one brother, Kenneth (Kay) Harbin of Sandwich; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Willis; her mother, Georgia Mangrum; and her brothers, Gary, Earl and Ira Harbin.
Her Visitation will be on Sunday, Jan. 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore. Her Funeral Service will be on Monday, January 19th at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethel Assembly of God Church, 131 W. Elm Street, Sycamore, IL, with Pastor William Mills officiating. Though her earthly body will be placed at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore, she is already rejoicing with her Lord and loved ones who welcomed her home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Sycamore in care of the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.
