Cecil Willis, age 87, of Sycamore, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 2, 2015. Born on March 11, 1927 in Poinsett County, Arkansas, Cecil was the second of five children.

Cecil married Charlene Harbin on December 22, 1951 and settled in Sycamore to raise their family.

Cecil was part of the Sycamore community for 67 years where he established a successful business as a general contractor. Cecil spent his life serving his family and providing quality craftsmanship to those in the Sycamore area. He will always be remembered for his honesty and integrity not only in business, but in his personal life as well. His family will also remember him for his many great stories and humorous sayings.

He is survived by his sons, Ronnie (Donna) Smith of Mountain Home, AR and Roger (Annette) Willis of Woodstock; and by daughters, Cathy (John) Hartley of Woodstock, Colleen Willis of Sycamore, Dianna (Gary) Olson of Maple Park and Debbie (Dave) G'Fellers of DeKalb; one brother, Lealon (Gladys) Willis of Collierville, TN; and many dearly loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene; son, Randy; parents, Thomas and Mittie Willis; brother, WJ Willis; and sisters, Irene Yates and Ailene Cooper.

Visitation will be held at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2015, with a funeral service starting at 11:30 AM., with Pastor William Mills officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. While Cecil will be buried next to his bride of 63 years at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore, he is already reunited with her and other loved ones who welcomed him home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Charlene Willis benevolence ministry in care of the Bethel Assembly of God Church, 131 W. Elm St., Sycamore, IL 60178.
