On March 4, 1950, Arlene was united in marriage to Donald Moes in Tama. She enjoyed their family, wintering in Arizona and watching baseball with Donald on TV. She was a member of the Sully First Reformed Church.
Arlene died on Saturday morning, Dec. 13, 2008, in the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry Moes, in 1997; her husband, Donald, on Nov. 5, 2007; and a sister, Mildred Slagle.
Those left to honor Arlene’s memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Bryce and Laura Moes of Newton; granddaughter, Kelsey Moes of Newton; sister, Viola Browne of Marshalltown; a brother, Donald Tuinstra of Spencer; brother-in-law, Ed Sparks of Waukee; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Moes of Pleasant Hill and Irene Moes of Sully; and several nieces and nephews.
