After being confined to her bed for seven months as a result of a broken hip received in a fall, Mrs. John Hummer died last night a 9 o'clock at her home just east of Huntington. The deceased was 68 years old on February 26th.
Mrs. Hummer was the daughter of Jacob and Lizzie Shelley of Wabash county. Besides her husband, John Hummer, she leaves surviving five children, Rafe of Roanoke, Ernest of Wabash, Charles of Wabash and Fred and John who live at home. Two daughters born to the union are dead. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Nervia Keslar of Canada and Mrs. Samantha Sells, Wabash county.
The deceased at the time of her death was a member of the Church of God, Lindley street, Huntington. Funeral services will be held from the church Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Rev.
