The son of Paul Ivan Goodloe and Katie B. Pope Goodloe, he was born on a farm northwest of Guymon until the family moved to Pratt, Kansas, where he attended & graduated from Pratt High School. Before enlisting in the US Navy, he attended OPSU for one year.
He married Iris A. McHenry on Jan. 13, 1952 in Lamar, Colorado. They had three children and moved back to the Guymon area in 1955 to farm. Iris preceded him in death in 1983. He then married Darlene Hood in 1989. She died in July of 2000. He retired from farming in 2004. He had been a resident of Dunaway Manor Nursing Home since June of 2006 until the time of his death. Also preceding him in death are his parents; two brothers, Wirt Goodloe, Robert Goodloe; one sister, Caroline Goodloe; and two stillborn siblings.
He is survived by two daughters, a son, two sisters, eight grandchildren and several nieces and Nephews.
He was a veteran of the Navy and participated in the invasion of the opening of D-Day in the European campaign in World War II. He served on the LST 980 off the coast of France.
He was an active member of the Victory United Methodist Church, Masons, and the Masonic Lodge Order of Eastern Star.
Friends & family may visit on Tuesday, Aug. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Henson-Novak Funeral Home in Guymon. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 23 at 10 a.m. at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Burkett, pastor, officiating. Interment follows in Elmhurst Cemetery.

His grave is located in the section between 300 St. & Rose Lane (400 St.) and between D St. & E St.
