Marvin 'Jim' Cook, age 78, of Ellenboro, NC, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.

Jim was born on October 3, 1932 in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late E.W. Cook and Aileen Deese Cook. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked as a self-employed machinist for several types of industries. He enjoyed auto racing and repairing anything from cars to lawn mowers. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Independent Order of Foresters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Jean Tart and one brother, Raymond Cook.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara 'Frances' Cook; one daughter, Sherrie K. Cook and her companion, Carl; three brothers, Joe Cook and David Cook both of Charlotte, NC and Jerry Cook of Claremont, NC.
