Misty's love was for her family and home where she gardened & rescued animals. She mentored and discipled youth at her church and assisted inner city disadvantaged persons to become more self-sufficient. She was president of the Phoenix Home Schooling Association. She was certified by Kolbe to evaluate persons applying for employment at corporations. She worked at Cavan Associates where she served in Human Resources and then as Chief Operating Officer.
