BARNES, Lee Age 74, transitioned to eternal life October 26, 2015. Born February 5, 1941 in Buffalo, NY to the late Earl and Minnie Barnes and a resident of Dayton for over 45 years. He served in the military and later completed his education at Central State University and Ohio State University, earning a Master's degree in School Administration. He retired from the Dayton Public School System after 35 years of service. Lee was an active member of Greater New Hope M.B. Church International. Preceded in death by his sister, Jessee Barnes; mother-in-law, Marie Shaw. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 34 years, Erthale Barnes; sons, Rhapsody Barnes (Mary Vicente), Tommy Montgomery, Akil Kontar; daughters, Stacy Patterson, Dawn (David) Huszar; nine grandchildren; four sisters and one brother, three Godchildren, numerous brothers-and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Home going celebration will be held 12 noon Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 380 S. Broadway St. Pastor Charles McDaniel, eulogist. Interment West Memory Gardens. Visitation from 10 am-12 pm. Family will receive friends from 11 am-12 pm. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Special thanks to Fresenius Medical Center-Salem location for their dedicated service and care.
