Funeral services conducted by Rev. Sam B. Wiggins, of Conway, assisted by E.E. Stevenson, pastor of the local Methodist Church, were held Monday afternoon, the business houses of the city being closed during the funeral hour. Burial was in Brearley Cemetery.
Mrs. Batson, who had been a resident of Dardanelle nearly all of her life, was loved and admired by all who knew her. Since girlhood she had been a member of the Methodist Church. She was also a member of Joe Wheeler Chapter, U.D.C.
Mrs. Batson is survived by three sons, Calvin A., Reese and Lester, one daughter Mrs. R.L. Harkey; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil Keathley of Danville and Mrs. Carl Moore of Henryetta, Okla. Four brothers, T.C., and J.R. Alley of Oklahoma City, Okla., Alf Alley, of Ardmore, Okla. And Lee Alley of Morrilton.
