Howard Jenkins, 93, died on Friday, October 30, 2015. Howard was born in Fairfax, SC to Janie and Manor Jenkins. He moved with his family to Springfield as a young child. After serving in the Navy during World War II, Howard lived and worked in the Springfield area and retired from Uniroyal Tire Company. He began a second career as a labor consultant for the United Cork, Rubber, and Plastic Workers of America. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers, AFL-CIO, and the Teamsters. Howard leaves his wife of 65 years, Helen Jenkins; his daughter, Deborah (and Wayne) Price of Albany,NY, (and grandchildren, Allison Price and William Price); his son, Scoville Douglas (and Carol) Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, (and grandchildren, Scoville P. Jenkins,Taylor P. Jenkins, and Miles P. Jenkins); and many nieces and nephews. The calling hour is 9-9:30 a.m. Monday at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by the funeral at 9:30, with burial with military honors in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
