Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Wait Park, for Mrs. Nicholas (Bertha) Schwartz, 81, formerly of 157-10th Ave. N, Waite Park, who died Friday in the Waite Park Nursing Home. The Rev. Vincent Lieser will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Daughters of Isabella will say the rosary at 3:45 p.m. Sunday. Women of the Moose will pray at 6:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Schwartz was born Aug. 23, 1901, in Madelia to the late Conrad and Elizabeth (Brackelsberg) Boeckmann. She married Nicholas Schwartz on Nov. 23, 1920, in St. Nicholas. She was a resident of Waite Park since 1923 and was a member of St. Joseph Church and Christian Mothers. She also was a member of Women of the Moose and Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include children, Mrs. Edward (Marie) Emslander and Mrs. Roman (Claudia) Emslander, Waite Park; Robert, Lexington, Ky; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1965. Also preceding her in death were 11 brothers and sisters.
