According to Dictionnaire généalogique des familles acadiennes, Jean Doucet was born about 1665, likely in Port Royal, Acadia, as the son of Pierre Doucet and Henriette Pelletret. In about 1692 he married Francoise Blanchard, the daughter of Martin Blanchard and Francoise LeBlanc and settled in Les Mines. In the summer of 1714, Jean visited Île Royale (Prince Edward Island) and then received permission to settle there. His apparently widowed wife is listed on the 1752 census of Rivière-du-Nord-Est, Île St-Jean, with her daughter Claire and her husband, Amand Bugeaud.

Children of Jean Doucet & Francoise Blanchard:
*Madeleine (~1693- ); m. Claude Landry (Claude & Catherine Thibodeau) 8 Feb 1712 in Grand Pré.(SGA-1,3)
*Marie-Josephe (~1694-1767); m. Francois Landry (Antoine & Marie Thibodeau) 27 May 1711 in Grand Pré.(SGA-1,51)
*Jean (bef. 1701- ); m. Isabelle Hebert (Jacques & Marguerite Landry) 23 Jan 1726 in Grand Pré. (SGA-2,243)
*unknown son born before the 1707 census
*Marguerite (24 Sep 1708-bef. 1756); m. Paul Bugeaud (Alain & Elisabeth Melanson) 29 Jul 1726 in Grand Pré.(SGA-2,236)
*Claire (~1712- ); m. Louis-Amand Bugeaud (Alain & Elisabeth Melanson) 19 Dec 1730 in Grand Pré.(SGA-2,217)

In some family trees, he is called Jean Claude Doucet and shown as dying in Port Royal / Annapolis Royal in 1754, but this is Claude Doucet, the son of Germain Doucet (~1641- bef. 1698) and Marie Landry (~1646- ). I have found no indication of him using the name Claude.
