Mrs. Janice Brazelton Lawrence, age 67, of Putnam County, died Thursday, October 29, 2015, in the St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, after an extended illness. She was a native of Wheeler County, living in Spaulding County for many years, and graduated high school there. She earned an Associate Degree from DeKalb College, a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Science from Georgia State University, where she was also a member of Sigma Theta Tau. She was a nurse at Grady Hospital, DeKalb Memorial, and the Shepard Spine Center. She retired from Medtronic as a medical trainer in the neuro division. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Woodrow Brazelton and Ruby Bush Brazelton; and a sister, Glenda Faye Clark.

Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Tom Lawrence of Putnam County; two children, Angela Goodwin and husband Phillip of Fayetteville, and Ryan T. Lawrence and wife Stephanie of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; two sisters, Eloise Green and Virginia Conner of Vidalia; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Warnock, Alex Goodwin, Cayla Felts, Ashton Felts, Jenny Goodwin, Andrew Goodwin, and Tyler Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, November 1st at 1:30 p.m. in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Wayne McDaniel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 515 Denmark St., Suite 500, Statesboro GA 30458.
