John Mark Gammon went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2015. He was born to Harl and Ruby Gammon on August 7, 1959.

John Mark is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother Scott Gammon and wife Michele of Midwest City, his wife Molly Gammon of the home, his first wife Tina Gammon of Eudora, KS, a sister in law Suzanne Culbertson and husband Steve of Oklahoma City, daughter Amanda Wallenberg and husband Chance Sr. of Oklahoma City, son John Marshall Gammon and fiancé Crystal of Eudora, KS, son Andrew Gammon, son Aaron Gammon both of Edmond, OK, a grandson Chance Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

John went to Edmond Memorial High School back in the 70's when Edmond Memorial was the only high school at that time. He graduated in '77. From there he enlisted into the Navy and served for about 6 yrs. While in the Navy he met his first wife Tina. During their marriage, they were blessed with a daughter Amanda and son John Marshall.

John was a jack of all trades. He worked as a mechanic for a while and also worked in trucking where he drove trucks. When he met his current wife Molly, he had moved from trucking to working in the health field. The two of them dated for a while and Molly decided that if they were going to keep spending time together, that they might as well get married and so they did on June 5, 1993. Their marriage blessed them with two more wonderful children. First Andrew and then Aaron.

It was ten years ago that John had his major heart attack. It left him with only 20 percent of his heart left working. Ever since then, John had an uphill battle with his health. One of the most important things to John during this time were his wife and children. He wasn't sure if God would keep him around to see his sons Andrew and Aaron graduate, but when he got to see Andrew graduate, John prayed that God would keep him around to see Aaron graduate too. Well God kept him around for that celebration also. John also got to see his first grandchild be born and loved spending time with his "little man" Chance.

We will all miss John very much, but we are comforted knowing that he is no longer suffering or in any pain. As a family we also know that this is not the end. It may feel that way right now, but we know that we will see him again.

There will be a celebration of his life at 10:00 am Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK. A private family graveside service will follow at Luther Cemetery in Luther, OK.
