Thomas Strickland Eastanollee, GA Mr. Thomas Joel Strickland, Sr. age 66, of 659 North Avenue, Eastanollee, GA passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009 at his residence. A son of the late Frank and Nadine Barksdale Strickland, he was born September 15, 1942 in Brooks County, Georgia where he lived most of his life having lived in Stephens County since 1985. He was a Retired School Teacher from the Stephens County Middle School, a member of the Toccoa First Baptist Church and a member of the Georgia National Guard. Survivors include his wife Evelyn Spears Strickland of the home, son Thomas "Joel" Strickland, Jr. and his wife Jeana of Toccoa, 2 grandchildren, Madison Isabelle Strickland and Noah Joel Strickland, 3 sisters, Julie Anne Everette of Greenville, FL, Mary Helen Love of Alabama, Betty Cunningham of North Carolina, 3 brothers, Harvey Strickland of Quitman, Georgia, Walter Strickland of Thomasville, GA and John David Strickland of Adel, GA, a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Jim Nelson and the Reverend Dr. Henry Fields officiating. The family is at the son's home, Mr. & Mrs. Joel Strickland, 64 White Valley Drive, Toccoa, GA and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 6 until 8 PM.
