Funeral service for Mr. Bobby Joe Ferrington, 66, of Jena, will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the First Pentecostal Church of Wisner, with Rev. C.R. Nugent, Rev. Glen Massey, Rev. Peyton Sparks and Rev. Stanley Thrift officiating, interment to follow at South Central Cemetery, under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home- Winnsboro, LA.

Bobby Joe was born on October 11, 1949 in Ferriday, LA to the union of Rev. Eldon Griffin (Monk) Ferrington and Alma Walker Ferrington and passed from this life into his eternal home on October 26, 2015 in Vidalia, LA. Words cannot describe how special Bobby was as a father, husband and as a friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nila Faye (Mickey) Paris; brother, Cecil Ferrington; great-niece, Sarah Oliveaux; nephew, Little Billy Cobb; grand-daughter, Emma Davidson and niece, Donna Kay Oliveaux.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Linda Gale Thomas Ferrington; daughters, Lisa Davidson and husband Joey of Jena, LA, Angie Boggs and husband David of Monroe, LA, and Misty Munholland and husband Jeff of Monroe, LA; sisters, Sue Cowan of Dunbarton, LA and Glenda Cobb and husband Billy of Wisner, LA; grandchildren, Blake Davidson and wife Mary of Jena, LA, Derrick Davidson and wife Luci of Jena, LA, Kevin Day of Jena, LA, Miranda Harrison and husband Randy of Lake Charles, LA, Courtney Munholland of Monroe, LA, Chelsea Powell of Monroe, LA, Dustin Powell of Monroe, LA and Alexis Shelton and husband Justin of Monroe, LA; 5 great-grandchildren; and is also survived by special family, Toni Jones of Andrews, TX and Kenneth and Diane Jenkins of Wisner, LA and also by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be: grandsons, Blake Davidson, Derrick Davidson, Kevin Day, Randy Harrison and Dustin Powell; nephews, Charlie Ferrington and Dusty Cobb; and special grandson, Austin Eubanks.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 5:30-9:00 Pm at the church.
