He was a decorated Officer in the Army that served our country for many years in two wars; Japan, during World War 2 and later in Korea.
Before retiring Charles spent 20 years working for Moore’s Lumber & Building Supply. He attended Valley View United Methodist Church and was an avid reader.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vergie Lunsford; his wife Marie N. Lunsford; son James H. Adams; and brothers and sisters.
Charles is survived by his sons Jerry L. (Roberta) Adams, Gary L. (Somlet) Adams, Charles (Pis) Lunsford, Lawrence (Stacie) Lunsford; daughter Cheri (Robert G.) Benge Jr.; twelve grandchildren James D. (Roberta Gage) Adams, C. Scott (Regina) Adams, Kenneth Adams, Nancy J. Albanese, R. Seth Adams, Evan M. Adams, Pamela J. Lunsford, Melanie M. Lunsford, Trista K. Lunsford, L. Edward Lunsford Jr., Amanda N. Benge and Sara M. Benge, twelve great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; plus other family members.
Receiving of friends and family will be from 6:00pm – 8:00pm Monday October 26, 2015 with a Service to follow at 8:00pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849. Interment will be held on Tuesday October 27, 2015 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens; Rev. Paige Wimberley will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations for the Wound Warrior Project.
