The Reverend Henry Franklin Mason was born 27 March 1842 in Philadelphia, the son of Wm. R. and Margaret Comly Mason. He was baptized 27 March 1842 at the First United Methodist Church of Germantown, Philadelphia, PA and later became a Methodist minister. During the Civil War, he served in the U.S. Cavalry and was discharged before 1863. He married Amanda Benner Winter abt. 1864 and resided with his family in Philadelphia for the rest of his life. He died 29 August 1921.
