He was born to Armand and Concordia Drews Dobberstein, he attended Emanuel Lutheran School in New London (same zip code as Royalton WI in Waupaca County) He graduated for Northwestern College in Watertown Wi and attended Lutheran Seminar Mequon Wi.He was married shortly after he graduated.
He served as pastor with several congregations in Wisconin before coming to Rapid City SD.
He taught at the seminary that he graduated from in Wisconsin for sixteen years. He and his wife retired to Rapid City and he continued to served congregations that needed him.
He loved farming as a child, and had a garden all of his adult life. He enjoyed fishing in Sylvan Lake. He was big sports fan, following the Packer, Badgers and Brewers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisers in infancy, a brother Wayne and a great grand daughter Tori.
Memorial services were held at ST Paul's Lutheran Church in Rapid City SD.
