Two months short of her 93rd birthday; Charlotte died October 20th, 2015 at the Medicalodge, Clay Center.

She was born December 13th, 1922 at Glasco, Kan., daughter of John and Mary (Melcher) Beesley, and sister to Clarine Hauck and Marvin Beesley.

Charlotte planned to be a teacher, but was married back in the day that teachers were not to be married. Instead, she became a devoted wife and later a devoted mother, and grandmother. She was known as an excellent cook, an excellent housekeeper and gardener, and a perfectionist at sewing rapidly her own dresses, clothes for her granddaughters, and shirts for her son, Jim. She and her husband were avid walkers, and she did many hikes with her son, his wife, and granddaughters in the mountains of Colorado, the trails of Ontario, Canada, as well as in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Until she was forced to move to assisted living, she was proud of monitoring her 2 miles a day walks.

Immediate family survivors include son, Dr. Jim Mottin, daughter-in-law Betty Mottin, Granddaughters Rebecca and Rachel Mottin, all of Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, at a later date with a private ceremony.

Memorials may be made directly to Meadowlark Hospice of Clay Center, or in--lieu—of that the family asks that you do a special favor for a friend in need.
