Early Life: Don was born on May 17, 1925, in Ephraim, Utah, to Lawrence Ray and Nancy Ann Lamb Peterson.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission with his wife, Glenna, in Wales. Don had a love of music; he played First Chair French Horn in the Utah Symphony for 49 years. Beyond sharing music through performing, he taught music at Olympus Junior High School, Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. After retiring from the symphony, Don tuned and repaired pianos for several years by way of a business he started, Peterson Piano Service. In addition to family, church and music, Don loved anything to do with flying. Over the years, he owned and flew a glider, an ultralight aircraft and a paraglide. He could regularly be seen flying over the homes and foothills of Highland, Utah, for many years and spent time building his own aircraft in his workshop. Don Cornelius Peterson passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, October 17, 2015. He was 90 years old.
Survived By: His four sons and two daughters: Douglas, Becky Douglas, Roger, Diana Goodsell, Scott, David; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Johnson.
Preceded In Death By: His wife of 47 years, Glenna; his second wife, Marion; his parents; three brothers: John, Dick, Robert; two grandchildren: Amber Douglas, Cory Peterson; and a great grandchild, Madi Douglas.
