COUNTY HIGHWAY EMPLOYEE DIES

Roscoe Dunham, 61, of Route 4, Angola, an employee of the Steuben County Highway Department since April 1944, was stricken and died while at work Tuesday afternoon. Death was apparently due to a heart attack. Mr. Dunham had recently been undergoing a treatment for a heart condition.
He had been working as a grader operator, but when reporting for work in the morning he wasn't feeling too well and was given the assignment of hauling gas and fuel oil to equipment throughout the county. Mr. Dunham had just returned to the highway storage barn at the County Farm corners about 4 p.m. and was still in the pickup truck when suffering the fatal attack.
Surviving are the wife, Doris; a daughter, Mrs. Nytell Schalk, Angola; a son, Larry Dunham, of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany; two grandchildren and a brother, Reuben Dunham, Angola.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Klink Memorial Chapel where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday with Rev. Malcolm Meston, pastor of the Metz Church of Christ, officiating.
