Bob L. Curliss was born on February 21, 1927 in Scipio, Oklahoma to Henry and Myrtle Curliss. He went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on September 12, 2013 at the age of 86 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy of 63 years; son, Mickey Bob Curliss; three brothers Ray Curliss, Bub Curliss and Leo Curliss; and one sister Mary Jean Herman.
Bob was a WW II veteran and received the WW II Victory Medal. He retired from the United States Postal Service. Upon retirement he owned and operated the Melrose Courts Motel for 10 years.
He is survived by his three sons; K. and wife Deena of Shawnee, Oklahoma, J. Curliss of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and R. Curliss of Eugene, Oregon; one daughter L. Johnson and husband Rory of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren R. Rubottom and husband Dan of Houston, Texas, L. Taylor and husband Preston of Temple, Texas, C. Rollins and husband Jeremy of Moore, Oklahoma and J. Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren; Destiny, Cicely, Zoe, Zachery, Lauren and Cami.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Visitation will begin 5:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City, Oklahoma.
