DAVENPORT -- Honora Schwarz, of Davenport, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Crest Health Center, Davenport. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Davenport. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport.
Honora Karstens was born Oct. 3, 1909, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Ferdinand and Katie (Kirby) Karstens. She married Fred Schwarz on April 27, 1933, in Davenport. He died in 1991.
Mrs. Schwarz served several years as secretary for Tri-City Bird Club. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was a longtime member, or a favorite charity.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou (Mrs. David) Dulaney, West Des Moines; sons, Dr. Robert Schwarz, Menomonee Falls, Wis., and Fred Schwarz; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marge Cool, Davenport.
