Sheldon Burton Takes Life With Gun
Sheldon J. Burton, old-time Reno resident, committed suicide this afternoon by shooting himself in the head. His sister. Mrs. C.O. Gasho, found his body in the garage at her home on South Center Street.
Two notes were found in his pocket, one addressed to the police and the other to his family. The note to the police declared that he intended to take his own life because he had been ill for three years, and there was no hope for his recovery.
The body was taken to the Ross-Burke Mortuary. An inquest will be held by Coroner Sullivan tomorrow afternoon.
Mr. Burton was sixty-four years old and was born in Downieville, Cal. He had spent many years in Reno and was well known here.
