Donald Crouse, 78, of Dillon, Iowa passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2015, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Military Honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 839 and by American Legion Posts in the Marshalltown area.

Donald G. Crouse was born on October 28, 1936, at the Deaconess Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Wayne and Helen (Winslow) Crouse. Don attended School in the Conrad Community School District graduating with the class of 1955. Don served our country honorable in the United States Navy from 1958 until 1964. On February 17, 1968, Donald was united in marriage to Elaine Gummert at the Trinity Church in Dillon, Iowa, they had lived in Dillion since 1973. He had worked at the Conrad Coop, a machinist at Dunham Bush, and then Martin Marietta, after retirement he drove a school bus.

Don was a member of the American Legion and the Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon and was a member of the Marshalltown police reserve. Don was all about his family loving all the children, and grandchildren; he enjoyed the car races, Jeff Gordon his favorite and the IOWA HAWKEYES.

Left to cherish is his wife of 47 years, Elaine of Marshalltown, Iowa, children, Robert (Hallie) Crouse of Gilman, Iowa and Ann (Chad) Plowman of Newton, Iowa and his grandchildren, Whitaker and Clara Crouse and Cole and Riley Plowman and his siblings, Sharon (Toby) Brimmer of Marshalltown, Iowa, Stan(Sharon) Crouse of Florida and sister-in-law, Elaine Crouse.

In death Don rejoins his parents, Wayne and Helen, daughter, Robin, brother, Ron and father-in-law, Robert Gummert.

Funeral services for Donald Crouse, 78, of Dillon, IA, were held Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon. Pastor Fred Berry served as Officiant. A Message in Music was offered by Bev Grove and Lenny Crouse.

Pallbearers were Cary Crouse, Lowell Crouse, Lenny Crouse, Shawn Crouse, Tim Brimmer, Tim Cooper and Denny Fish.

Honorary Pallbearers were Whitaker Crouse, Riley Plowman, Clara Crouse and Cole Plowman.

Military Honors were provided of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #839 and by American Legion Posts in the area.

Along with family and friends, groups attending represented Woodbury School, Iowa River Hospice, East Marshall School, Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon and 1950's Card Club.
