Geraldine M. Suda, age 84 of Park River, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River.
Geraldine M. Gerszewski was born Aug. 2, 1931 near Warsaw, ND the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Walski) Gerszewski. She attended elementary school for three years at the St. Anthony Convent in Warsaw and finished her education at the Levant School in Levant Township. Geraldine was united in marriage to Luke Suda on June 20, 1956 in Ardoch, ND. The couple made their home on the farm north of Veseleyville, ND. In 1976 Geraldine started working as a Resident Care Technician at the Developmental Center in Grafton retiring after 20 years. The couple moved to Grafton in 2004 and in February of 2014 they moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Park River.
Geraldine was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Veseleyville, ND. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club and POLKA Club. Geraldine loved doing crafts, especially crocheting and knitting. She was very fond of collecting Precious Moments and stuffed animals that she loved to give to her grandchildren. Geraldine had a strong devotion to her faith and prayed the Rosary faithfully. She traveled to Winnipeg with her son Kevin to meet Pope John Paul.
Geraldine was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lynette and siblings: Rayme, Medard, Jerome Gerszewski and Ione Korynta.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Veseleyville, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 with a rosary and prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery.
