Marilyn L. Lee, age 95, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield after having lived a long, rewarding life.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh, WI. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, is honored to be assisting the family.

Marilyn was born in Oshkosh, WI on September 20, 1925 to Edward A. and Leila E. (Stark) Boycks.

She received her elementary education at schools in Oshkosh. The family moved to Stevens Point, WI in the early 1940s where she graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1943. She then attended UW Stevens Point where she developed an interest in public relations. That interest resulted in the establishment of her own public relations business called "Creative Communications."

During World War II, Marilyn became the long-distance fiancé of her high school boyfriend Raymond M. Lee (Ray). Ray had enlisted with the United States Army Air Force in the South Pacific for most of his years in the service. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in December 1945.

Ray and Marilyn were married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point, WI on June 15, 1947. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage and the gift of a treasured son, Rev. Dr. Randall R. Lee.

Marilyn was superintendent of the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids for several years. She was also employed as public relations assistant to the administrators at Riverview Hospital until her retirement in 1992.

During her active years, Marilyn was a member of Riverview Hospital Association, Riverview Hospital Auxiliary, and the Wisconsin Hospital Public Relations and Marketing Society.

Marilyn was predeceased by her grandparents; parents; siblings: Edward C. Boycks of Santa Ana, California, and Gerald B. Boycks of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother and sister-in-law, James and Marion Sullivan and their daughter, Sandra; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joyce Lee; sisters-in-law: Mildred Boycks and Anna Mae Boycks; all of her aunts and uncles; her husband Ray; and her son Randy.

She is survived by several distant cousins, nieces and nephews, and by a close family friend, David Kuschel of Wisconsin Rapids.

In retrospect, in view of her lifestyle and demeanor, Marilyn strongly felt gratitude to God for her grace-filled life and for the promise of new life in Heaven to those who believe in God's son Jesus as redeemer.
