"Reno resident for 60 years, Maria Mongolo died at a hospital there on Thanksgiving Day. She was born in Torriglia, Italy 5 Jul 1880 and came to Reno as a young girl to make her home with an older sister who operated the commercial Hotel located on N Center Street at the present site of Harrah's Bingo Parlor.
Her parents were the late Edward and Columbia Dondero. She married Louis Mongolo 62 years ago in Reno. The ranched in the Truckee Meadows area for many years, in 1919 they purchased property at Second Street and Wells Avenue; in 1938 they erected the Subway Baron this site.
Survived by two sons, Ed and Frank Mongolo; five grandchildren, Orien, Walter, Andrew Robert, Ed Jr., and Madeline Mongolo; three great grandchildren (names removed as they may be still living), two brothers, Ernest and Victor Mongolo; one sister, Mrs. Palmira Dallavo, all of Reno."
