Mrs. Beatrice S. Gibbs, 69, died Tuesday night at Cobb Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. She lived at 2117 Second Ave., Phenix City, for 23 years.
She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Born in Cottonton, Ala., August 20, 1894, she was a daughter of the late Bryant and Mary Stringer Sallas.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Frances L. Kite, Fort Mitchell, Ala., Mrs. Annie Mae Howard and Mrs. Mary E. Blalock, both of Phenix City, and Mrs. Armenta Green, Troy, Ala.; two sons J.B. Kite, Newton, Miss., and Johnny B. Downs, Columbus; 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Gibbs: Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice S. Gibbs will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. from the North Phenix Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Bodenhamer, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The following will serve as active pallbearers; Earl Kretschmar, M.W. Whitman, John Best, Harvey Newman, Harvey Lindsey, and K.E. Capes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of the North Phenix City Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Frances L. Kite, Ft. Mitchell, Ala., Mrs. Annie Mae Howard, and Mrs. Mary E. Blalock, both of Phenix City, and Mrs. Armenta Green of Troy, Ala.; two sons, J.B. Kite of Newton, Mississippi, and Johnny B. Downs, of Columbus; one sister, Mrs. Mary Lou Joyner of Phenix City; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
