Rites held for Willie A. Hagins of Brooklet

Willie A. Hagins, 69, died early Friday afternoon June 16, at his home near Brooklet after a short illness. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of the Brooklet Community in Bulloch County.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs Sula D. Hagins, Brooklet; two daughters, Mrs. Gibson Waters, Augusta, Mrs. Mrs. Lester Waters of Brooklet; a sister, Mrs. J. A. Denmark, Statesboro; a brother, J. D. Hagins, Live Oak, Fla. and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Hagins, were held Sunday afternoon, June 18, at 3:30 o'clock, from the Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church, with the Elder Howard Cox and the Elder T. Roe Scott conducting the services. Burial was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were his nephews; James Denmark, Eugene Denmark, Theron Grooms, Lewis Baker, Buford Horton, and Dowdy Shuman. Honorary pallbearers will be Emeral Lanier, Roy Bell, Robert Lanier, Marshall Robertson, C. B. McAllister, B. J. Futch, Dr. D. L. Martin, Dr. C. E. Bohler, Ollie Akins, Lehmon Akins, Harold Howell, Elijah Akins, and J. T. Whitaker. The body remained at the family residence near Brooklet until the funeral hour.

Smith-Tillman Mortuary of Statesboro, was in charge of arrangements.
