Born to James Boughner and Margaret Cork. Married Aug 7, 1948 in Indiana to Pearl K. Noland. Helped raise his step-son Larry. Clare served in WW II in the 127th Infantry Regiment as Sargent Technician Fourth Grade and was wounded near San Nicolas, Luzon, Philippine Islands, on Feb. 16, 1945 and received the purple heart, Bronze Star, Army Good Conduct, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign, Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Battle Stars, World War II Victory, Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with 1 Bronze Battle Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, Presidential Unit citation, Philippine Presidential Unit citation, and the ruptured duck button. He was wounded by a man, before killing the man hiding up in a tree.
