The following article was printed in the Lockport Union Sun and Journal on Monday August 29, 1938:


"Samuel Bowler Dies.


The funeral of Samuel Bowler, 73, of 62 Roby street former International Railway company lineman, who died at 6:30 Sunday morning after an illness of several months will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leonard Gliddon, 16 Grant street. Burial will be in Cold Springs cemetery.

Mr. Bowler was employed by the railway company for 25 years prior to his retirement about seven years ago.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. A. P. Beader, Royal Oak, Mich.; Mrs. Leonard Gliddon and Miss Mary Bowler, Lockport; two sons, William Bowler, Buffalo, and Elmer Bowler, Lockport; three sisters, Mrs. William H. Bennett, Philadelphia; Mrs. George Robinson, Titusville,Pa.; and Mrs. Frank Lambert, Lockport; and two brothers, Richard and Garfield Bowler, Lockport."
