Published in the Lockport Union Sun and Journal on Tuesday June 14, 1932 (Page 11, Column 1):

"Vincent Bowler, 64, former supervisor of the second ward and for many years a gardener, died last night at his home on the Old Niagara road. He had been suffering for the past three months with a complication of diseases but had not been confined to his bed and was stricken quite suddenly. Mr. Bowler was born in Lockport and spent his entire life here. He conducted a truck garden and was well known throughout the city. In politics Mr. Bowler was a Republican. On July 15, 1913 he was appointed supervisor of the second ward to serve out an unexpired term of the late James W. Heary, Democrat. The appointment was made by Lockport's minister mayor, Rev. George A. Brock, who was pastor of the old East Avenue Congregational church.
Mr. Bowler leaves two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Morton Gilbert and Mrs. Russell Cunningham, Kenneth J. Arthur D. and Vincent Bowler, Jr., all of this city; four brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Edward Weaver, Samuel Bowler, Mrs. Frank Lambert and James O. Bowler, of Lockport; Mrs. William Bennett of Philadelphia; Mrs. George Robinson of Titusville and Richard Bowler of Gasport.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home. Burial will be at Cold Springs Cemetery. "
